Kazan – is the capital of the Republic of Tartarstan, since 2009 officially called ‘Third Capital’ after Moscow y St. Petersburg. This ancient city was founded in 1005 and its Kremlin is included by UNESCO to the World Heritage list. This city has hosted several international sport events, like 2013 Summer Universiade, the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, and the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, and 2018 FIFA World Cup. How to get there: there are several direct flights from Moscow as well as from St. Petersburg to Kazan daily, flight duration is 1h30-2h. If you are looking for new experience, take the train that goes from Moscow to Kazan in 11 hours.
When to travel: all year round, although due to strong winds blowing from Volga river, it’s better to come to Kazan from April to October, when the weather is mild and warm.
